Description

At Sain- Omer, God granted Mary a sight of great glory, saying to her: "Be not weary, you shall die soon, and your reward shall be great".

The Scene

A tender meeting of Mary Ward and Jesus as the central figures.

The two companions are thought to be Mary Poyntz and Winefrid Wigmore.

They are wearing religious habits, though at the end of Mary time in Saint-Omer (1638) they were not permitted to wear this.

Jesus seems to be passing by Mary and turns slightly to take her hand.
