Description

In 1609, when Mary was 24 years of age, with the approval of her confessor whom she had vowed to obey in all spiritual matters, she made a vow to return to England and to labour there for the salvation of souls, in conformity with her state. Her labours produced abundant fruit. However, her attempts at religious life had not gone as planned.

The Scene
